Aluminum billet

Aluminum billet is one of the most widely used semi-finished aluminum casting products and is produced by continuous casting (DC) method. It is very important to discuss how it is produced as a raw material for an aluminum extrusion press. Billet quality may directly affect or control the productivity, product quality, and price of aluminum billet. Also, using high purity aluminum ingot is essential to maintain the quality of aluminum billet. Casting and billet quality are two very important parameters in the production of Fartak Alum products. On the other hand, technology is constantly changing and improving towards higher quality and productivity.

Types of billet aluminum:
1-Imported billets Such as imported billets from companies such as Dobal, Rusal, Talco, etc.
2- Standard Billet Includes Iralco and Al Mahdi products, which are known in the market as Standard Billet.3- DC BilletBillets produced from molten aluminum using the DC casting method or Directchill Casting. This term is used mainly to distinguish it from the products of the two companies Iralco and Al Mahdi.
4-Remelting or conversion billets These are billets that are produced by remelting aluminum scrap. The biggest disadvantage of these billets is the inability to properly alloy them. The two main methods in the aluminum industry for producing aluminum billets are described in Dezgir’s articles.
